I recently started training for a Kolachi Eating Contest. This contest is going to be held at the Houston Astros Stadium following an evening baseball game. My competition for this contest will be formidable. Pat Bertoletti, the only eater that has beaten me this year will be attending this contest. The presence of Pat at this contest means that I cannot get lazy. If I do not properly prepare my body for this contest Pat will pull off the upset.
I was very excited to hear that Waffle House will be holding the third annual Waffle Eating Championship. People who have followed my "Eating career" know that the 2005 Waffle Eating Championship is where I earned my first victory against Sonya Thomas. When I started Competitive Eating, spring of 05, the senior/veteran eaters spoke of Sonya the as if she was an unbeatable opponent After my first victory over Sonya I realized that anybody (even me) can be beaten, I will always train and compete with that mentality.
(Below is a picture of me at the end of the 2006 Deep fried Asparagus Eating Contest, held in Stockton , CA . I ended up winning this contest, but it was not easy. At the end of the ten minute contest Sonya and I were tied. I won the one (1) minute overtime, but it was close. I have competed in three overtime tie breakers, I have always been able to dig deep and pull out the win. It comes down to who wants it more.)
